Chanda L. Brown Appointed to Serve as Board Member for the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association.
COLUMBUS, OH – Walton + Brown LLP is pleased to announce that Chanda L. Brown has been appointed to serve as a board member of the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association (“OELA”).
OELA is organization founded to promote the interests of individual employees and to assist the lawyers who represent them. OELA members are attorneys who dedicate 70% or more of their employment practice to representing people, not companies. OELA attorneys vindicate employee rights, such as discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful discharge. OELA is a state affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association ("NELA").
Chanda has a strong background in employment law and civil litigation. She previously served as a law clerk to Administrate Law Judge Donald Mosser with the U.S. Department of Labor for two years. Her experience working with the Department of Labor gave her valuable insight into how to best represent individuals involved in various labor and employment related issues.
Prior to forming Walton + Brown, LLP, Chanda was the head of the litigation department in a Columbus personal injury law firm for seven years. Chanda has been the lead attorney in over 400 lawsuits involving personal injury and employment litigation matters, filed both in Ohio State Courts and Federal Courts.
Chanda is an active member of several bars and associations, including the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. Chanda also serves as a mentor to aspiring women attorneys through the Ohio Women’s Bar Association.
Chanda notes, “I am excited about being a Board Member with the OELA. For the majority of my legal career, I have worked mainly in personal injury litigation. Over the last few years, our firm has developed a much larger plaintiff’s employment law case load and we currently have a thriving employment law practice group that grows every day.”
